"Further growing our culture, our commitment to achieve the Queer Destination Committed distinction will help us in the recognition and inclusion of the LGBTQ+ community in the travel industry. Creating a safe environment where people from all backgrounds can be their authentic selves, showcases our leadership toward a world of diversity, equality, and inclusion. Earning the distinction went smoothly at Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht. Learning about LGBTQ+ was received positively by our colleagues. Through encouragement and providing the training opportunity, our team successfully developed a greater understanding of the community and their expectations. Looking at the hospitality and tourism industries, we see that there is a need for diversity. With more people traveling, we are introduced to a growing number of different backgrounds. Hence, it becomes more important every day to understand different lifestyles/communities, so we can cater to their expectations. With the distinction from Queer Destinations, we show the world that we are ready to welcome everyone during their time away from home."
