METHODOLOGY

Educational Program

The Queer Destinations Committed Distinction is achieved after all employees complete our educational program, Hospitality Meets Diversity, via our e-learning platform that incorporates updated statistical data, interviews, and practical case studies.

Sensitivity represents the most crucial requirement. This aims to create a secure environment for discussion and education about the LGBTQ+ community, their consumer habits, and appropriate reception practices.

Our commitment involves partnering with businesses and destinations that align with our values of inclusivity and respect for the LGBTQ+ community. This means not only pledging to support these destinations but also ensuring that they continuously uphold these values through their policies and practices.

Sensitization is a critical part of our approach, whereby we educate both businesses and destinations about the importance of LGBTQ+ inclusivity. This involves workshops, training sessions, and resource sharing to foster understanding and empathy within all sectors involved.

We develop strategic plans that leverage the purchasing power of the LGBTQ+ community to influence change. Our strategy includes collaborating with stakeholders to create marketing and operational plans that highlight and promote destinations committed to inclusivity.

Implementation requires putting these plans into action by launching campaigns, tracking progress, and making necessary adjustments to ensure our objectives of creating safe and inclusive environments are continuously met.

Designating a business as "LGBTQ+ inclusive" signifies a commitment that must be substantiated to avoid negative consequences. Establishing a strong foundation is essential, beginning with promoting awareness among staff and culminating in fostering a diverse and inclusive internal culture.

Reinforcing inclusivity policies

Having a strong reputation among employees is crucial for any company or destination wishing to attract and work with the LGBTQ+ community. A workplace that prioritizes diversity and inclusion not only yields higher levels of productivity and innovation but also enhances overall workforce well-being.

By the end of the year, 10 destinations will have the Queer Destinations Committed Distinction, among them: Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Chihuahua, Morelos and CDMX.
